Abstract

Problem
Specifically, the aim of this study is to answer the following questions:
1. What percentage of the male mumps victims became infertile?
2. What can mumps cause infertility to men?
3. How can mumps be treated?

Summary of Findings
1. All the respondents are male which married and experienced mumps are at the age of 6 to 20 years old.
2. All of the respondents have inadequate knowledge about the disease and they only rely on their own idea or perception in dealing with mumps.
3. The most common symptoms of the respondents are high fever, vomiting, dizziness and feeling of ill.
4. Out of the 50 respondent 70 % use dye as a treatment to mumps and 24% use vinegar.
5. Only 42% believe that mumps can cause infertility to men because most of them think that mumps is just a simple disease during summer.
6. Out of 50 respondents only 35% of them have an idea about mumps while 65% have no idea bout mumps.
7. Most of the respondents experienced mumps for 1 week.

Conclusion
Therefore we conclude that mumps can cause infertility to men if the mumps virus descends to the reproductive organ of the person affected by it. In particular the testis of the male, because if mumps become an orchitis or an inflammation of the testis , the production of
the sperm can be affected. Spermatogenesis or the generation of the sperm can be affected which can lead to secession of sperm production.

Recommendation
1. It is more recommended for as early as infant the baby must receive vaccination.
2. To take antibiotic drugs as prescribed by the physician, such medications like non. steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and also ibuprofen. The patient must also have an adequate bed rest and must elevate his scrotum and apply cold packs to lessen the pain
3. The patient must also be informed that he must take the entire course of medication recommended by the physician.

Objectives

This study aims to prove if mumps can cause infertility.
